William Lustig’s „Maniac“ was confiscated in Germany for 36 years. However, the unconventional slasher film was not only destined to stir up emotions in Germany, but also caused a storm of indignation worldwide due to its excessive depictions of violence. The result was a cult film that has lost none of its power even 40 years after its release.

In addition to the cover story, we also report on one of the biggest multimedia events of the 1990s, namely „TekWar“ by William Shatner, look back at the lurid film marketing of the Grundhouse films of the 70s, amuse ourselves with trash grenades of the 80s and also take a look back at Lucio Fulci’s „Paura nella città dei morti viventi“.
